Each manufacturer will have a specific set of requirements. The most common is that you must have your carpets professionally cleaned (by a certified firm that offers hot water extraction a.k.a. HWE or steam cleaning) at least every 18 months. Also, the proper protectors must be reapplied after every cleaning. Advantage Carpet Cleaning meets all of the above criteria for maintaining your carpet manufacturer’s warrantee.

Carpet protector is very beneficial to your carpets.  When this protective coating is applied to the carpet fibers, it puts a protective barrier around each fiber. This protective barrier resists moisture. When you do have a spill, it gives you a window of time to get it cleaned up.  Also, The other important way that this product helps you is in the area of wear. Having this protective coating on your carpet helps reduce the wear and abrasion caused by sand in the carpet. This protects the carpet from excessive matting, and in turn will cause your carpet to perform better.

If a spot returned a day or so after cleaning, it may have been due to the nature of the spot. Deep stains tend to surface if they are in the backing of the carpet. Contact us for more information on stain removal.

Pet odor is a very common problem that could be much more complex than on first impression. Pet urine can easily soak through the backing of the carpet into the padding underneath. In more severe cases the urine can penetrate into the sub-floor beneath the padding. This creates a problem that is multi-layered.  To eliminate this problem, the urine must be removed or neutralized from each of the layers affected. If the contamination is limited to only the face yarn of the carpet then the cleaning itself may effectively remove the odor. In more severe cases a urine neutralizer may be applied.  In the most severe cases, replacement of the carpet padding, treatment of the under-side of the carpet and the sub-floor may be required. Even replacement of the carpet, however, can not guarantee complete removal of the odor.

Steam cleaning is both a surface cleaner and a deep penetrating cleaner. It can remove surface stains and also deep clean down into the carpet pad where bacteria and other stains can linger.  Hot water extraction is the only method classified as “ deep cleaning”. This method is also called steam cleaning due to the heat of the water used to clean your carpet. Hot water extraction rejuvenates your carpet fibers and brings them back to life.Nearly all carpet manufactures and fiber producers recommend hot water extraction for cleaning carpets.

Equipment and what type of chemical being used is a huge factor when cleaning carpets. There is nothing on the consumer level that can give you the type of cleaning power you need. To get all the dirt, allergens, chemicals and other pollutants out of carpet, major carpet manufacturers recommend one cleaning method over all others – hot water extraction, like Advantage Carpet Cleaning uses.  Our cleaning method works because for every 18 degree increase in water temperature above 118 degrees Fahrenheit, the water’s cleaning ability is doubled. This means hot water extraction can get you carpets 4 to 5 times cleaner.  The truck-mounted equipment used for hot water extraction shoots the cleaning solution into your carpet at a high pressure to break up all the allergens, dirt and other pollutants. Then the equipment uses strong suction to draw out all residues, including dust mites, etc. from your carpet, leaving you with not only a clean carpet but also a healthy carpet.  Carpets dry in two to three hours, leaving you with a clean carpet and less allergens to trigger an attack.
